Ashraf Nagori sent on remand till October 5

Surat: The District special court for the cases of GujCTOC Act sent Ashraf Nagori on remand till 5th October. Lalgate police had sought 20 days remand of Nagori after he was presented in the court.

Lalgate police had booked Mohammad Ashraf Mohammad Ismail Nagori alias Ashraf Nagori and other members of Nagori Gang on 11th January 2021 under GujCTOC.

The accused Arif Nagori, Abdul Ansari, Wasim Qureshi were arrested on 12th January, while Ashraf Nagori and Mohammad Firoz alias Gazni Mohammad Farid Ansari were declared absconders. Ashraf Nagori was arrested under POTA Act as the mastermind of the firing on the-then advocate associated with BJP, VHP and RSS in Surat after communal riots of 2002. Gujarat ATS (Anti-Terrorist Squad) had nabbed Nagori on 19th September.

Nagori has history of crimes under Arms Act, seizing properties, rioting, grievous hurt, death threat and more filed against him in Chowk Bazar, Katargam, Salabatpura police stations. He was hiding in Ahmedabad, Dhoraji, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara and other places after escaping from Surat before he was nabbed on September 19. DeshGujarat
