Visavdar shuts to protest increasing nuisance of anti-social elements

Junagadh: Visavadar town in Junagadh district observed a shutdown on Monday along with a rally and ‘ramdhun’ programmes at the Visavadar police station to protest increasing nuisance of antisocial elements.

A gang of antisocial elements recently attacked Rajan Ribadiya, the son of MLA Harshad Ribadiya with sword when he tried to stop the gang from extorting a food vendor at night. Rajan received an injury on his arm due to the attack. Later the antisocial elements arrived on bikes with pipes and other weapons and attacked Rajan Ribadiya and Raj Ribadiya, the cousin brother of MLA Harshad Ribadiya with swords near Ram mandir in Visavadar. It caused head injury to Raj Ribadiya.

The goons also damaged the cars of the relatives of the MLA Harshad Ribadiya present there. Both the son and cousin of MLA were immediately admitted to Junagadh Hospital for treatment. Later, MLA Harshad Ribadiya along with other leaders went to the police station and demanded strict actions against the antisocial elements.
