Renown Gujarati language expert, retired principal Dr. Yogendra Vyas commits suicide with wife

Ahmedabad: A retired professor named Yogendra Vyas and his wife committed suicide by hanging themselves at their home in Sarasvati society in satellite area of city. Satellite Police found a suicide-note from their home claiming that they committed suicide as they were fed up with their illnesses.
The retired professor Yogendra Vyas was suffering from a kidney disease and his wife Anjana Vyas had cancer. They committed suicide at late night at their home. Satellite Police found a suicide-note from the spot during investigation in which it was written that they were suffering from the illnesses from a long time and they decided to commit suicide after not getting any results.
The retired professor Yogendra Vyas worked as a professor in Gujarat University in the past and his wife was a housewife. His son is a gastrologist and runs a clinic in Ahmedabad. Professor Vyas was known face for many due to his language workshops and speeches on Doordarshan and also on Youtube.
Professor Vyas had authored 27 books and compiled another 24. His five books had on Gujarat Sahitya Academy awards. He worked as advisor appointed by the Central Government in Bharatiya Bhasha Sansthan. He was a member of visiting committee of UGC for ninth five-year plan. He had worked as member of National Accreditation and Assessment Council. He was felicitated as dedicated teacher by Ahmedabad City Education Committee. He had worked as Principal of MM Shah Women’s college in Surendranagar and at Saraspur Arts and Commerce College. He was Reader in Gujarat University’s Bhasha Sahitya Bhavan in the past. DeshGujarat
