Navratri 2021 to be a eight-night festival instead of nine

Gandhinagar: The Navratri this year will be 8 nights long instead of the standard duration of 9 nights. It will be celebrated from 7th to 14th October.

The Navratri is 8 days long this year because the Trej and Chauth (third and fourth nights) fall on the same day on Saturday, 9th October due to the ‘Kshaya’ of Chauth.

The Navratri or Sharad Navratri will begin from Thursday- 7th October. The shubh muhurat for Ghat Sthapan, Dip Sthapan and Kalash Sthapan is from 6.31 AM to 8 AM on this day.

The Havanashtami or havan puja can be performed on the day of Ashtami on Wednesday- 13th October. The Dussehra will be celebrated on 15th October this year.

The state government has issued a guideline for the celebration of Navratri in which approval is not granted to the commercial arrangements. Sheri Garba events are allowed however in limit of 400 persons at a venue. DeshGujarat
