Gandhinagar: Two days after the State government’s Information department sent a list of guardian ministers appointed for various districts to media persons, the State BJP sent a fresh note to media persons regarding same, but with changed names and districts.

As per the fresh note, the State government has made following allocations of districts to ministers.

While the earlier allocation was themed around the portfolio of ministers, the latest allocation which is believed the work of State party chief CR Patil has been themed around the geography. The ministers have been assigned districts closer to their constituency locations. Say for example a 70-year petrochemicals, energy and finance minister was given Jamnagar district as incharge as the district houses largest petroleum refinery complex where mega green energy park is also coming up. However Desai is MLA from Pardi constituency in Southern most Gujarat. It takes 11 hours to travel between Pardi and Jamnagar. In a fresh list, Desai has been assigned Surat district as guardian minister. Surat is located at two hours distance from Pardi.

It is increasingly clear that among the State government and State unit of ruling party, the later is enjoying supremacy, be it the cabinet formation or assigning portfolio to ministers or allocation of districts to ministers as guardian. DeshGujarat
