PM Modi launches Jal Jeevan Mission App and Rashtriya Jal Jeevan Kosh; interacts with Gujarat village Sarpanch

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today had a direct interaction with the Sarpanch of Pimpli village of Banaskantha Rameshbhai Patel through video-conferencing in a Gram Sabha.
PM Modi asked the Sarpanch what they do if poor quality water is found during regular checking. In reply, sarpanch said that no poor quality water has been found till now and they get clean water.
Sarpanch also informed about annual contribution of Rs 120 from the locals which is paid regularly by them for water supply, in reply to questions asked by PM Modi. PM Modi further asked what they will do if tomorrow some sarpanch candidate promise about giving free water, at the time of election campaign. Sarpanch replied that those talking about free water also know that the quantity of water is limited and it is very valuable. So, supplying water and making a contribution should go together.
PM Modi asked about the progress of drip irrigation system for which the sarpanch replied that 95 percent villagers are connected with this system and it saves water and helps for significant and various kinds of cultivation. PM Modi appreciated the village by saying a Gujarati idiom about hard work. He added that they are getting the fruits of the hard work by each person of the village and the hard work by the citizens like them is the true potential of every scheme. DeshGujarat
