Gandhinagar: Ruling Bharatiya Janata Party has won two seats of Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) that went for by-polls.
BJP candidate Ritaben Rajendrabhai Patel has won from Chandkheda ward. She got 14,017 votes. This seat was vacant as sitting BJP’s woman councilor had resigned soon after her victory earlier this year due to personal reasons.
BJP candidate Maulik Gautambhai Patel has been victorious from Isanpur ward. He received 19,399 votes. Maulik is son of late BJP councilor Gautambhai Patel who passed away earlier this year after elected again as councilor.
Main opposition party Congress candidate Razakbhai Hussainbhai Hala has won ward number 8 by-election in Junagadh Municipal Corporation (JMC). He received 4,576 votes. The by-poll was held here due to passing away of previous councilor Vijaybhai Vora who was representing Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). DeshGujarat
