Gujarat govt extends age limit for recruitment by one year

Gandhinagar: The extension of one year in the age-limit for the recruitment of government jobs will be in effect for 1st September 2021 to 31st August 2022 in the state, as decided by the state-cabinet meeting held in the leadership of Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel today.

For the general male category, the age-limit will be 36 years instead of 35 years with extension of a year for the direct recruitments by competitive exams for graduation and equivalent qualification. The age-limit will be 34 years instead of 33 years for the qualification below graduation for the same category.

For the SC, ST and OBC male category, the age-limit will be 41 years instead of the previous provision of 40 years in case of graduation and equivalent qualification. It will be 39 years instead of 38 years for qualification below graduation for these categories.

For the general female category, the age-limit will be 39 years instead of 38 years for the qualification below graduation. It will be 41 years instead of 40 years for the graduation and equivalent qualification for this category.

For the females from reserved categories such as SC, ST, OBC and EWS, the age limit will be 44 years instead of 43 years for the qualification below graduation. The age-limit of 45 years for the reserved category females for graduation and equivalent qualification will remain the same as the extension of one year can’t be implemented in this case due to the provisions.
