Police Inspector working with AMC held in bribe case

Ahmedabad: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed an armed police-inspector working with Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) in a bribe case of Rs 10,000.
The accused armed police-inspector Faruq Masruf Ahmed Qureshi works in the cattle catching vehicle of AMC. He allegedly demands a bribe of Rs 10,000 every month from the complainant to not catch his cows and not file a case and threatens him to file a case if the bribe is not paid. He asked the complainant to pay a bribe of total Rs 20,000 including Rs 10,000 as instalment and Rs 10,000 as Diwali bonus on a call the day before yesterday. After the complainant said that he is not able to arrange the money, the accused demanded to only pay Rs 10,000 as instalment.
The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused armed police-inspector was found accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant during a trap executed by ACB yesterday on 12th October. ACB had detained the accused. DeshGujarat
