Sardar Patel’s insult in CWC meet, alleges BJP

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today attacked opposition Congress party over alleged remarks against Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, which, it said, were made during the Congress Working Committe (CWC) meet on October 16, citing a media report.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra in a press conference today raised question, whether Congress president Sonia Gandhi and former chief Rahul Gandhi would reprimand Tariq Hameed Karra, who made remarks against Sardar Patel repeatedly.

Tariq Hameed Karra, a former leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who joined the Congress in 2017, said that it was only Jawaharlal Nehru, the country’s first Prime Minister, who integrated Jammu and Kashmir with India, while Sardar Patel and Jinnah tried their best not to let this happen and keep J&K away from India, Patra claimed and asked whether Sonia and Rahul Gandhi objected to the insult of Sardar Patel during CWC meet.

Karra is the first politician from the Srinagar Valley to be nominated as a member of the CWC.
