SMC appeals citizens to get tested against Covid-19 when returning from vacation outside

Surat: Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) has appealed to the residents of Surat city in a formal statement issued today that they should reenter the city of Surat only after RTPCR-tests after spending vacation outside.
SMC appealed citizens to get tested against Covid-19 through RTPCR test when reentering the city even if they are vaccinated with both doses of Covid-19 vaccine after traveling outside the city during Diwali festival.
SMC in its note mentioned that many residents of the city will go to tourist places outside the city in the festival of Diwali in upcoming days. Those traveling outside are appealed to enter the city after mandatory RTPCR-test of the last 72 hours despite being vaccinated with both doses, it states further.
Gujarat will see Diwali vacation for 21 days during 1st to 21st of November. Lakhs of people will chose to travel to various tourist places during this period. SMC fears that some may return with Covid-19 infection.
