Foundation stone laid for Hirpura Barrage Project in North Gujarat

Mahesana: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Gujarat state BJP President CR Patil performed e-dedication and foundation stone laying of various developments including Hirpura barrage in Mehsana district today.
The area of around 7910 acre will benefit from the Hirpura barrage that shall have 346 crore litre water storage capacity with 19 gates. It will bring solution to the issue of irrigation and drinking water in interior villages of Himmatnagar and Vijapur talukas of North Gujarat.
Rs. 214 crore barrage project will benefit 3200 hectare land of two talukas with irrigation water supply. Two villages of Vijapur talukas and 4 villages of Himmatnagar taluka will get irrigation water supply through this project. The barrage will have 3.47 million cubic meter capacity of storage of water.
The barrage project will take 3 years to complete according to CR Patil who quoted Mahesana MLA Nitin Patel for this information. Patil urged for speedy completion of the project before time.
The foundation stone laying of APMC Brahmanwada sub-yard godown built at a cost of around Rs 3.25 crores and dedication of 20 classrooms of Primary School no.7 built at cost of 1 crore 40 lakh were performed. The rooms and midday meal shed of the school are built at a cost of Rs 1 crore 19 lakh. The modal sub-registrar office at Vijapur has been built at a cost of Rs 96 lakh.DeshGujarat
