Sarpanch held by ACB Gujarat in Rs. one lakh bribe case

Mahesana: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed the sarpanch of Gilosan gram panchayat in Mehsana in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs one lakh.
Sharing the details of the case, ACB said an applicant had made an application before Gilosan gram panchayat for getting a permission letter for industrial plotting.
The accused sarpanch Bhikhumiya alias Gandalal Alimiya Chauhan had demanded a bribe of Rs 4,00,000 from the complainant to issue permission letter. The accused sarpanch had accepted Rs 50,000 for the same and continued demanding the remaining amount.
When the complainant contacted the accused for the permission letter, the accused told him to come to receive the permission letter along with a bribe of Rs 1,00,000. The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused sarpanch was found accepting a bribe of Rs 1,00,000 from the complainant during a trap executed by ACB on 1st November. ACB has detained the accused sarpanch. DeshGujarat
