Stone pelting on moving vehicles at Ahmedabad – Vadodara expressway reported

Vadodara: Some unknown persons pelted stones on the moving vehicles near Samarkha on Ahmedabad – Vadodara expressway in the night on Tuesday- 2nd November. In each case, heavy stones were pelted from frontal side, from height of the over bridge.

The information about the incident was conveyed to the National Highway Authority of India’s office and Anand and Kheda district police following which the police immediately undertook patrolling. However, the responsible persons couldn’t be found. The glasses of some vehicles broke due to the incident. However, there is no loss of life.

Such incidents were regularly reported years ago when the expressway was opened for traffic for the first time. Police had traced and nabbed some locals from nearby villages who would go the bridge and pelt stone from the height on moving vehicles. As this is an expressway, the vehicles move in high-speed and therefore such stone pelting can cause accident and prove fatal. This is a prime highway of Gujarat and such incidents must be taken very seriously by police. DeshGujarat
