Gujarat tops for third time in logistic ease index of Centre

New Delhi: Gujarat has achieved the top position for the third time in the LEADS (Logistic Ease Across Different States) index released by the Commerce Ministry on Monday.

Gujarat has also achieved the first position in LEADS index in the year 2018 and 2019. In this ranking, Gujarat is followed by Haryana and Punjab in second and third position respectively. The ranking was not released in the year 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel has congratulated the related departments for this achievement.

Total 21 indicators are included in the parameters of LEADS 2021 index such as state infrastructure such as roads, rail network, ports and airports, ware-house and cold storages, delivery within the decided time-limit in the services by service providers, ease of transporting goods from one place to another, traceability of goods, the legal arrangements under security and operating and regulatory environment, labor laws, transparency in the approvals and so on. The LEADS report would help in identifying the problem areas in the sector and prepare policy responses to deal with them. DeshGujarat
