Tana Riri award for Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr Viraj Amar Bhatt

Gandhinagar: Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel will award the state government’s Tana-Riri award for the year 2021-22 to Padma Shri awardee Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr Viraj Amar Bhatt.

The state government’s Tana-Riri Sangit Sanman Award will be given at a 2-day Tana-Riri Mahotsav to be organised at Tana-Riri garden on 12th and 13th November from 7 pm onwards in Vadnagar. Each of the both winners will be honoured with a check of Rs 2.50 lakh , shawl and a citation.

Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel will remain present at this occasion on 12th November at 7 pm. Padma Shri awardee Kavita Krishnamurthy and Dr Viraj Amar Bhatt will perform classical singing and L Subramanian will give a violin performance.

CM Patel will visit Hatkeshvar Mahadev Mandir at 6 pm on 12th November and visit Tana-Riri performing arts college at 6.30 pm. He will be welcomed there by playing sharnai and dhol, chanting mantras and flowers.

In the Tana-Riri Mahotsav, over 100 artists will play Bhungal, a traditional musical instrument of Gujarat simultaneously and make a world record. On 13th November, Niraj Parikh and team will perform Keshav Gan, Padma Bhushan awardee Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt and team will perform desert slide, and Rakesh Chaurasia will perform jugalbandi of flute and sitar. The closing ceremony will be held jointly by the sports, youth and cultural activity department and Mehsana district administration on 13th November.
