Hathikhana based Hindus get calls and messages from abroad asking them to sell properties

Bharuch: Some Hindu residents of the sensitive Hathikhana area in Bharuch received messages and calls from unknown users from foreign country offering Rs 1 crore for selling each of their houses.
The residents including a person named Gaurang Rana, residing in Bahadur Buraj area of Hathikhana received messages and calls on social media from an unknown person. The person claiming to be a Muslim offered them the selling price twice than the original price of the houses. He offered Rs 1 crore for selling of the houses originally costing Rs. 5-10 lakh, locals said. The residents have undertaken the process of filing a police complaint against the unknown person.
In October 2021, the local Hindus of Hathikhana area of Bharuch had protested regarding the poor implementation of the Disturbed Area Act by putting up banners titled ‘for sale’ at Hindu owned houses and at a mandir in the locality.
