Hindu girl’s sudden death in Surat: Relatives allege poisoning and Love Jihad

Surat: A Hindu girl died allegedly due to poisoning in Surat after she went to a coffee shop near Bhagwan Mahavir college in Vesu with a Muslim boy.

According to her relatives, a victim girl was harassed by a Muslim boy some time ago. Her parents had scolded a boy, met boy’s parents and discontinued victim girl’s college for a while.

According to relatives, Kamrej based victim girl had gone to a coffee shop namely Coffee Castle which is located just opposite Bhagwan Mahavir college. There was a Muslim boy with her. The coffee shop has closed compartments for meetings between boys and girls and its banner outside the shop clearly mentions, ‘we provide privacy for couple’.

It is not clear at this point that for what reasons, but the victim girl went unconscious, after which 108 ambulance took both of them to hospital where she was declared dead. The boy was also suspected to have consumed poison, but he fled from the hospital. The relatives of the victim girl who are from Odiya community pressed for justice to a girl and alleged that this was a case of Love Jihad. They said, the Muslim boy escaped the hospital after he learnt that the girl was dead. They alleged that this could be the case of poisoning and the accused must be booked and nabbed. A Hindu organization Rashtriya Bajrang Dal’s local office bearer was accompanying the victim girl’s family.
