Surat: Union Minister of State for railways and textiles Darshana Jardosh today inaugurated the 3-day gems and jewelleries exhibition at Sarsana convention centre, Surat organised by Surat Jewellery Manufacturers Association.

Over 200 manufacturers have participated in this 3-day exhibition from 27th to 29th November. An umbrella of natural diamonds of 175 carat weight of the cost of Rs 20 lakh has become a centre of attraction in the exhibition. It is made of 12 thousand diamonds and 450-gram gold. The hip-hop jewelleries, diamond studded pen, watch and more items are put on display.

Union Minister of State for railways and textiles Darshana Jardosh said that the role of the diamond industry is important in the Make in India. Union Minister Piyush Goyal said when virtually addressing that the diamond and jewellery industry of Surat is fulfilling the concept of Atmanirbhar Bharat of PM Narendra Modi.
