Diu: A total 6 hotels of Diu are closed after the collector’s order due to the illegal construction.

The tourism department of Diu administration had issued notices to the managers of 27 hotels and paying guest houses. Later, notices were issued to 8 hotels for which the hearing was done by collector Saloni Rai. Those who have done illegal construction were supposed to make FAR as per municipal bylaws and submit revised plans for approval within 7 days, as per the hearing.

The six hotels out of the 8 hotels failed to do the process after 7 days which are Hotel Khushi, Hotel Labh, Hotel Sukoon, Golden Paying Guest, New Manek Paying Guest, Shyam Paying Guest House. So, the tourism department didn’t renew their registrations and ordered their closure. So, the managers of these hotels have stopped allotting rooms to the guests.
