ACB Gujarat nabs another Deputy Mamlatdar in bribe case; Middleman also held

Vaoddara: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a deputy mamlatdar of Mamlatdar office in Karjan taluka of Vadodara along with a middleman in a bribe case involving the sum of Rs 5,000.

A complainant’s Eco car was given for the election duty during by-election of state assembly and jilla and taluka panchayat elections last year. The accused deputy mamlatdar Jashvantbhai Devabhai Parmar demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 for allotting the vehicle for election duty for both elections and confirm the payment for the same without any problem. However complainant had not paid the bribe money.

The accused deputy mamlatdar later demanded Rs 5000 as first installment of total Rs. 20,000 pending payment of bribe from the complainant for previous election works, and further told complainant that he would manage allocation of his car even for upcoming gram panchayat election 2021.

A complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The second accused person Hasmukhbhai Chhitubhai Parmar was found accepting a bribe of Rs 5000 from the complainant on behalf of the accused deputy mamlatdar during a trap executed by ACB on 30th November.
