Surat may have world’s largest jewelry mall

Surat: The captains of Gujarat Diamond Bourse and Ichchhapor Gems and Jewellery Park have decided to build the largest jewellery mall of the world in Ichchhapor Jewellery Park in Surat.

The mall will be built across 55 thousand square feet out of the total land of 10 lakh square feet of Ichchhapor Gems and Jewellery Park. A total 850 jewellery showrooms will be built across 8.50 lakh square feet construction at a cost of Rs 850 crores. The site visit program is arranged on 5th December by Gujarat Diamond Bourse Committee. Around 650 jewellery traders from various cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore will arrive to visit the site of the mall.

Gujarat Diamond Bourse MD Nanubhai Vanani informed that Ichchhapor Gems and Jewellery Park has a total 10 lakh square feet land. The building for the jewellery mall will be built in 55 thousand square feet. In the remaining 9.45 lakh square feet land, the companies of jewellery manufacturing and diamond cutting and polishing will function, out of which 125 jewellery manufacturing companies will do production.

A total of 18 companies are operating at present. The turnover of each company is between Rs 3000 crores to Rs 15000 crores per annum. A total of 25 new companies will start production shortly. The shops will be sold at no profit no loss basis in the jewellery mall. DeshGujarat
