Ahmedabad: The pre-paid auto rickshaw service has started at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) Airport – Ahmedabad from today. It will prove extremely helpful for passengers arriving at the airport to reach their locations in Ahmedabad without worrying about getting overcharged.

The pre-paid auto rickshaws will run as per the government approved rates. The passengers will be required to give the location of the destination at the counter outside the terminal for booking. The fare will be decided as per the distance in kilometres according to the location and the fare can be paid digitally. Then, a slip will be allotted to the passenger through which he can get an auto rickshaw.

The drivers will be provided a t-shirt, a tag of ‘I’M Vaccinated’ and safety shoes for the rickshaw unions who will join in the prepaid auto rickshaw service. The rickshaw drivers should submit registration of the rickshaw, covid vaccination certificate, licence, letter of union membership and police verification data mandatorily.

The system has been put in place so that passengers can reach end-destination without worrying about cheating and security concerns. The system will be continuously monitored and feedback will be taken for future betterment and modifications. DeshGujarat
