ACB Gujarat traps and nab another Deputy Mamlatdar in bribe case

Gandhinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed another deputy mamlatdar in bribe case. The accused was taking bribe in toilet/washroom located inside the storeroom of mamlatdar office of Anklaw in district Anand.

According to ACB, accused had demanded Rs. 10,000 bribe for removal of names in ancestral land. After some bargain, the bribe amount was finalized at Rs. 4,000. The accused asked complainant to pay whatever amount he had on the spot, there and then. A complainant was carrying Rs. 2,000 cash which he paid to accused. He was asked to pay another installment of Rs. 2,000 later.

As the complainant was not willing to pay bribe, he contacted ACB following which a trap was arranged and accused was held taking Rs. 1500 bribe. The accused had returned Rs. 500 to complainant after receiving Rs. 2,000 from him. DeshGujarat
