Surat: A two and half years old girl child was raped and killed by convict Guddu Yadav in industrial laborers populated Pandesara area of Surat. Yadav has been given death penalty by local Sessions Court. According to government advocate Nayan Sukhadwala, this is the fastest verdict of such nature so far in Gujarat in which the court has given verdict in just 29 days. Police had produced a 246-page Chargesheet in just  8 days after arrest of the accused. Court trial was concluded in net 7 days. The court has given death penalty to accused and also asked him to pay Rs. 20 lakh compensation to the family of victim girl.

Guddu Yadav (38) had on November 4, a night before Diwali kidnapped the victim girl to bushy area near Vadod and raped her before choking her to death. The accused was held by police after two days of crime. Yadav had committed crime after watching porn videos that he had purchased from a shop in the form of memory card.

Sukhadwala said Minister of State for Home, Harsh Sanghavi had called him over telephone and asked for fast track trial and justice to victim child. Sukhadwala said, timely justice could be delivered due to very good support of police, medial team and court team.

Mother of victim girl listened to the verdict with tears in her eyes. She said she feels justice has been delivered. The father of victim girl said he wants criminal Guddu Yadav to get death penalty at soonest.

The Government’s legal team had done its best to ensure that the criminal gets death penalty in this case. As many as 31 judgement were produced before the court in which death penalty was awarded to criminals for rape and killing of minor victim girls. DeshGujarat
