Govt mulling to rope in NGOs and create shelters to house menacing stray cattle: Patil

Junagadh: Gujarat BJP Chief CR Patil in reply to media persons here on the sidelines of a public function said the government is mulling to set up fenced shelters on government lands in rural areas to keep stay cattle inside. He said such facility will be created near each village or group of two three village group. He said the government land will be allotted for the purpose and fencing will be erected. He said, the up-keeping of facility will be handed over to NGOs. It’s worth noting that nuisance of stray cattle, mainly bulls is increasing in villages and towns day by day. The State has prohibited bovine slaughter through a law. On the other voluntary run Panjrapol mostly house cows and they are full of their capacity. While the authorities capture stray bulls and other menacing animals. there’s is no sufficient facility to house such captured cattle and for their look-after. DeshGujarat
