ACB Gujarat nabs Fire Officer in bribe case

Rajkot: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed a station officer of Kanak road fire station in Rajkot city in a bribe case of Rs 40,000.
The complainant had conducted the work of installing fire safety equipment in two tower buildings. Later, he had given an application for getting an NOC in fire and emergency services department of Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) after completion of work. The NOC was already prepared. However, the accused station officer Kirit Harpalbhai Koli demanded a bribe of total Rs 50,000 for issuing NOC for both towers, considering Rs 25,000 per tower. The amount was reduced to Rs 40,000 after arguments. The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused station officer was found taking a bribe of Rs 40,000 from complainant during a trap executed by ACB. ACB has detained the accused. DeshGujarat
