Six booked in Palitana Love Jihad case; Four of them nabbed

Bhavnagar: Six persons are booked in Love Jihad case in Palitana. Police has unearthed a modus operandi of fake marriage certificate in this case.
The parents of a girl had informed Palitana town police station that their daughter was missing. During investigation, Police concluded that victim girl was taken away by one Zakir Harun Saiyed from Palitana. Bhavnagr Lokca Crime Branch Inspector VV Oderara and staff created various teams to investigate the case and to find out the victim girl and Zakir.
Crime Branch of Bhavnagar Police has unearthed a racket of religious conversion operating from the office of a female lawyer in which the duplicate Nikah Nama and witnesses were presented after trapping Hindu girls in Love-Jihad cases.
When questioned, Zakir claimed that they had love affairs and they had married each other through nikah ceremony as per the special marriage act in Delhi. They added that the court had approved their marriage after they presented their marriage certificates and Nikah Nama in the court.  When demanded the papers, the accused presented them in Whatsapp. In order to verify the papers physically, the local crime branch team of Bhavnagar police visited Delhi where it was found out that the wedding certificate and nikahnama papers were fabricated and fake.  Contrary to accused’s claim, the imam of Madina Masjid named Maulana Mohammad Shamim Kalekhan Kasmi told investigation team that no such nikah was performed there and the nikah nama presented in the court was duplicate.  The victim Hindu female had stated during questioning  that her marriage was performed in the office of lawyer of Delhi Tis Hazari court Nitu Anupsing Vats on 26th November after her religious conversion done by a maulana. Thus, the Nikah nama, marriage certificates and even witnesses produced by accused Zakir came out to be fake during the investigation.
The crime is filed against the six accused Zakir Harunbhai Saiyad (from Palitana), his aides Gulab Habibkhan Pathan (lives in Vadva, Bhavnagar), Aftab alias Altaf Ahmed Shaikh (lives in Shaikh Faliya, Kodinar), Mohammad Sahil alias Sahilbapu Mohammad Amin Kadri (lives in Kodinar), female lawyer Nitu Anupsing Vats (lives in Mundka, New Delhi) and a person associated with her named Rajesh(lives in Delhi). The accused Gulab Habibkhan Pathan from Vadva had introduced the couple with lawyer Aftab Ahmedhussain Shaikh and his friend Mohammad Sahil Mohammad Amin Kadri, who picked up the couple from Delhi airport and took them to the office of lawyer Nitu Vats where the nikah was performed.
The accused are booked under IPC sections 465, 468, 471, 493, 34, 114, 120)b. Two accused from Delhi are yet to be nabbed. The court has granted the 12-day remand of the 4 accused after presenting them in the court.
In another case of Love-Jihad, the Kutch Jilla Prajapati Sangh Samiti has on Wednesday submitted a memorandum to SP of Kutch East and demanded that a victim female of Prajapati community who was taken away by a Muslim man from Anjar should be found out at soonest. The complaint was filed on 22nd December in this regard. Quick action is demanded in this case by leaders of the community.
