Surat: The inauguration of Surat Diamond Bourse is likely to take place in April 2022 at the hands of Prime Minister Narendrabhai Modi.

Surat diamond bourse  is part of Rs 2900 crore Surat DREAM city project.  About per cent work of under-construction Surat diamond bourse has been completed. The gardening, interior, cleaning and finishing works are pending and likely to be completed by March or April 2022. The size of construction is about 66 lakh square feet. There are 9 towers with 15 floors in each of the towers.

The biggest customs house of the country has been built across 23000 square feet. Its inspection was done by the customs commissioner two days ago. An auction house has also been built in diamond bourse. The estimated trade of Rs 1.5 lakh crore is likely to take place after the bourse starts functioning fully.
