ACB Gujarat nabs flying squad staffer of geology and mines department in bribe case

Gandhinagar: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed junior clerk of flying squad of geology and mines department in Gandhinagar in a bribe case of Rs 10,000

The complainant runs a business of stocking sand in Bhulvan village of Chhota Udepur. The flying squad of mines and minerals department had arrived there to measure the stock of sand seven months ago. Later, the flying squad had checked online sand stock in which they found the variation in it. So, they issued a notice to the complainant. The accused junior clerk Hiteshkumar Jivabhai Chaudhari had demanded a bribe of Rs 15,000 to correct a mistake in the notice and to issue challan. The complainant had paid Rs 5000 at that time. He contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the remaining Rs 10,000. The accused junior clerk was found taking the bribe of Rs 10,000 during a trap executed by ACB.
