Lookout notice against Hikal Limited’s Managing Director in illegal chemical waste disposal case

Surat: City Police’s crime branch has issued a lookout notice against the Managing Director of Mumbai based Hikal company in the case of toxic gas leakage from illegal chemical waste at Sachin GIDC in Surat which killed six persons and injured many more.
The tanker filled with toxic chemicals was sent by Mumbai based Hikal company in Sachin GIDC, as found in investigation. The crime-branch had issued notices to the directors of Hikal company regarding this case but they didn’t give any response and stayed away from appearing at Surat crime branch.
The process of getting their arrest warrant from the court was made. The Managing Director of Hikal company named Samir Hiremath escaped whenever the Surat crime branch arrived in Mumbai. Surat crime branch has now issued a lookout notice against him. The crime branch has affixed the notice at various public places including Surat airport, and railway stations.
As per the report of Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) prepared on the basis of the samples collected by Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB), it is noted that the acidic gases Hydrogen Sulfide and Hydrogen Cyanide had produced due to the sulfide and cyanide found in the chemical sample.
