IMD forecast for cold wave in parts of Gujarat during 24-27 January

Gandhinagar: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued cold wave warning and severe cold wave warning at isolated pockets in various districts of the state on 24th, 25th, 26th and 27th January.
The cold wave to severe cold wave and cold day conditions are very likely at isolated pockets in Kutch district on 24th and 25th January, as per IMD weather forecast.
The cold wave and cold day conditions are very likely at isolated pockets in the districts namely Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Bharuch, Anand, Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Mehsana, Amreli, Morbi, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, Porbandar, Surendranagar and Junagadh on 24th and 25th January.
The cold wave and cold day conditions are very likely at isolated pockets in the districts of North Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Patan and Kutch on 26th and 27th January.
IMD states that the temperature will be moderate and chilly winds may aggravate cold at times during the above circumstances. The cold will be tolerable but there are mild health concerns for vulnerable people such as infants, pregnant women, elderly people with chronic diseases etc, states IMD.
IMD has suggested to avoid prolonged exposure to cold, to wear several layers of loose fitting, light weight, warm woolen clothing rather than one layer of heavy cloth, to cover head, neck, hands and toes adequately as majority of heat loss occurs through these body parts, during these circumstances.
Ahmedabad and the neighborhood will witness minimum temperature at 8 C and cold wave and cold day conditions are very likely on 25th January.  DeshGujarat
