ACB Gujarat nabs Fire Officer in Gandhinagar in bribe case

Gandhinagar: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has nabbed yet another fire officer in bribe case. Maheshkumar Ravidan Mod, a fire officer has been held while receiving Rs. 5 lakh bribe in a trap arranged by ACB.

Accused Maheshkumar Ravidan Mod is fire officer, class-2 and incharge deputy director, Gujarat State Fire Prevention Service. Another accused Kamalbhai Indubhai Gadhvi is a middleman and a private person.

The accused were nabbed in a trap arranged by ACB at State Fire and Safety Prevention Services office in Gandhinagar. According to ACB, an application was filed for  pre-NOC at State Fire Prevention Service, Gandhinagar office and approval of plan for Reva building in GIFT city and Antariksh building in Raysan. Accused fire officer had demanded Rs. 5 lakh bribe to clear the application. Accused fire officer had introduced complainant to accused middleman and asked to pay bribe to him.

ACB had earlier this week nabbed a fire officer working with Surat Municipal Corporation (SMC) in bribe case. DeshGujarat
