Kishan Bharwad murder case: Court sends Qamar Gani Usmani and Azim Bashir to 7 days remands

Dhandhuka: Local court here sent two accused in Kishan Bharwad murder case to 7 days police custody (remands). The two accused are Azim Bashir who was nabbed from Morbi and Maulana Qamar Gani Usmani who was nabbed from Delhi.

Police had demanded 14 days remands of both. Police wanted Azim Bashir’s remand to investigate the source of weapon that he had given to Ahmedabad based Maulana Ayyub to kill Kishan Bharwad. Maulana Ayyub had given the weapon ( a pistol and 5 bullets ) to executor Shabbir Chopda.

Police sought Maulana Qamar Gani Usmani’s remands to probe whether his organization Tahreke e Farogh Islami has terror linkages.

The court granted 7 days remands of both accused. According to a lawyer representing the accused, there’s no direct evidence against these two accused as they are directly not connected to crime. The lawyer said, the government’s argument was about section 120B which pertains to criminal conspiracy allegations against these two accused. DeshGujarat
