Minor clashes in Kathlal, Chhota Udepur, Rajkot over Kishan Bharwad’s murder

Gandhinagar: The murder case of a Hindu youth in Dhandhuka has resulted in clashes between the groups and persons in some other talukas in the state.

Kathlal police has filed cross complaints for the violent fights between Hindu and Muslim groups on Saturday. A Muslim man of Kathlal in Kheda had made a video viral on social media allegedly hurting the sentiments of Hindus. The violent fights between Hindu and Muslim groups took place at late night on Saturday regarding this matter. Total 3 persons from both groups were injured in the fights.

Two youths had tussled and threatened each other in Petlad in Anand district regarding a controversial post on social media. The matter was conveyed to Petlad Police station. Moreover, Tarapur in Anand district also observed strike for the murder case of Hindu youth in Dhandhuka.

A group of around twenty Muslims who attacked a youth over social media post was booked along with others in Chhota Udepur. The Police appealed for maintaining peace and avoid putting provoking post on social media.

In Rajkot, one PCR van of police and some two-three shops were damaged after the rally of Maldhari community. The protest rally was held without Police permission. Some of youths in the rally were voicing demand for death penalty to killers of Kishan Bahrwad. As some participants in rally started enforcing bandh, police had to use light baton charge to disburse the mob. One person is reportedly injured either by lathicharge or due to falling on road.
