AMC budget 2022-23 approved by Standing Committee

Sabarmati: Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC)’s Standing Committee has today presented Rs. 8,807 crore budget for year 2022-23. The elected body suggested Rs. 696 crore correction in the draft budget presented by Municipal Commissioner earlier.

The Standing Committee has not proposed any hike in property tax-conservancy tax and water tax. The AMC has also kept vehicle tax rates unchanged. All electric vehicles will get 100 per cent relief in vehicle tax rates. All residential units upto 70 square meter will attract 25 per cent tax relief in year 2022-23 in property tax.

New areas merged with AMC namely Bopal – Ghuma municipality, Chiloda – Naroda (City) gram panchayat, Kathwada gram panchayat, Sanathal, Vishalpur, Aslali, Geratpur, Bilasiya, Ranasan, Khodiyar, Nana Chiloda, Kathwada etc are given relief in property tax.

Trust hospitals in AMC buildings are given 70 per cent rebate in property tax. Physiotherapy centers operated by charitable trusts are given 70 per cent rebate in property tax.

The provision of allocating Rs 30 crore for making a four-lane railway over bridge connecting Makarba to corporate road, SG Highway is made in the budget. The amount of Rs 2 crore is allocated for making an under bridge from Ramdevnagar to Iskcon crossroad.

The provision of allocating Rs 3 crore for two lane minor river bridge connecting Hathijan village to Vivekanand nagar is made in the budget. The provision of Rs 1 crore for preparing a feasibility report for widening of Sarangpur and Kalupur over bridge for resolving the traffic issue is made in the budget.

The provision of Rs 10 crore for making plastic roads with modern technology in the various areas of Ahmedabad city with the issue of waterlogging is made in the budget.

Rs. 54 lakh allotment has been provisioned for beautification of old Ellis bridge. The amount will be spent on feasibility report.
