Kheralu: In two separate incidents, the Hindu youths were allegedly threatened by Muslims over Instagram status of Bhagwan Shri Ram and Kishan Bharwad. Kheralu police in Mahesana district of North Gujarat has filed complained over both the incidents and booked the accused men.

According to a complaint filed by one Akshat Rakeshbhai Sathwara, he had posted a status on Instagram featuring Kishan Bharwad about 15 days ago. Kishan Bharwad is a person who was killed by radicalized Muslims over his alleged blasphemous post for which he had also apologized. Agitated by Kishan Bharwad’s status in Instagram put by Akshat Sathwara (19), the Muslim men named Hidayat Bahelim, Jabir Bahelim and other 10 to 15 others allgedly attacked him. The accused allegedly reached Sathwara’s residence in the night on 8th February and started beating him up over his Instagram status about Kishan Bharwad as per the complaint. The accused allegedly broke the door of the toilet at Sathwara’s home and caused damage to property of around Rs 4,000. The youth’s parents and uncle- aunty reached there and saved him. The accused Muslims then left after allegedly uttering abusive words and threatening him to kill if he posts such statuses again on social media, as per the complaint.

Police has booked Bahelim Hidayat, Bahelim Jabir and ten to fifteen Muslims boys under IPC sections 447, 143, 149, 147, 427, 323, 504, 506(2).

In another complaint, Kheralu police has booked a Muslim man named Bahelim Hamid for threatening a 17-year old Hindu youth of Kheralu on phone call over a social media story featuring Bhagwan Shri Ram. The accused Bahelim Hamid, living in Hatadiya in Kheralu taluka had allegedly called the youth named Kirtankumar Harshadkumar Modi at around 5 pm on 9th February and asked him to delete his story on Instagram about Shri Ram and Hindu religion. The accused threatened the youth of a huge fight if he doesn’t delete the story, when the victim asked the reason for it. The accused had cut the call after asking to meet him at night. The accused had then called him a few times but the youth didn’t pick up the calls as he was scared. The youth and his parents went to Kheralu police station after he shared about the matter with them.

Police has booked Bahelim Hamid, resident of Hatadiya in Kheralu under IPC section 507. DeshGujarat
