Gujarat government announces changes in rules for transfers of teachers
February 17, 2022
Gandhinagar: The state government has made several changes in the rules of transfers of government teachers.
The changes are made in the rules of transfers for vidhya sahayak, primary teachers and highschool teachers. Around 2 lakh government teachers will benefit from the changes made by the state government. The rules of transfer were earlier introduced 10 years ago, following which various appeals were made by the primary education organisations for the changes.
The government teachers whose transfers were made but they had not been released due to over 10 % vacant establishments are released by the state government. The benefit of inter district transfers was only given to 40 percent teachers out of the vacancy till now. It will now be given to 100 percent of teachers out of the vacancy. The provision of ‘native’ was mandatory for inter district transfers and internal transfers in the districts. The word ‘native’ is removed from the provisions. The bonded teachers appointed on the condition of working at one place for 10 years will now be able to apply for transfers after 5 years of duty.
If the government employees are eligible for transfers from one district to another district and their spouse is government teachers, then such government teachers can be transferred with deputation in the districts where the government employee has been transferred. The benefit of husband/wife cases will be also executed for the granted bodies, public sector undertakings of state government, and government companies of the central and state government. A complaint redressal committee is formed for redressing complaints related to the transfers. DeshGujarat
