Police complaint against Jayesh Patel Pal over allegations of multi-crore scam

Surat: The police have filed a complaint against the former chairman of The Pal Group Co. Operative Cotton Sale Society Limited Jayesh Pal and owners of a flattened rice mill in Navsari over allegation of a scam of Rs 27.76 crore.
The complaint was made by the manager of the Pal cotton group. Jayesh Pal was chairman of the cooperative society for 17 years. It is alleged in the police complaint that the scam was done between 2016 to 2021 during his tenure. It alleged that no attempt was made for recovery of the money from the owners of a flattened rice mill and cash credit was given to them for 5 years.
The inspection was conducted by Surat district registrar (cooperative societies) Dhruvin Patel in Pal cotton group. The directors of Sai Hasti agro products Pragnesh Nayak and Mona Pragnesh Nayak are alleged to be involved in the scandal. The manager alleged in the complaint that the directors of Sai Hasti agro products Pragnesh Nayak and Mona Pragnesh Nayak didn’t pay the amount of rice of the cost of Rs 24 crore for over 2 years borrowed from the Pal cotton group.
The crime is filed against the directors of the Sai Hasti agro products and former chairman of Pal cotton group Jayesh Pal under IPC section 406, 420, 409, 120 (b), and 34. Jayesh Pal had given a written assurance by an affidavit that he will pay the amount by selling his land if the merchants don’t pay the remaining amount, in the general assembly of 22nd November 2020 to 2nd August 2021.
