ACB Gujarat nabs Municipal Councilor, middleman in bribe case

Jamnagar: Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed sitting councilor of ward number six of Jamnagar Municipal Corporation (JMC) and a middleman in bribe case.
The accused councilor is Furkan Akil Sheikh, while the other accused is Akhilesh Avdheshsinh Chauhan who runs a hotel.
According to ACB a complainant in this case has a site where construction work is underway. The accused councilor met him and said the construction was illegal. Accused councilor also told complainant that a written application was submitted against the construction work in municipal corporation. Accused councilor told complainant that if he wants to continue the work, he should pay Rs. 1.50 lakh bribe.
As complainant didn’t want to pay bribe, he contacted ACB, following which a trap was arranged and accused middleman was held while demanding and receiving bribe of Rs. 1.50 lakh. Both accused were held during the trap for further procedure. DeshGujarat
