Nadiad court sends 8 of 10 accused to jail in Love Jihad case

Nadiad: Nadiad Police have taken 8 out of 10 accused into judicial custody (jail) after producing them in the court in a love jihad case of Nadiad. The police have started investigating the key accused and another accused who have absconded.

According to the details of this case, the accused Yasarkhan Pathan had came into contact with the 24-year old victim Hindu female in 2020 through social media and started an affair. The 24-year old female belongs to an SC (Schedule Caste) community and she was willing to go to foreign country after completing Nursing studies. The accused had allegedly managed to get a visa to Dubai of the female after taking a total Rs 5 lakh from her gradually. He sent her alone as he couldn’t get his visa. The victim stayed there for 15 days and then demanded to return. The accused brought her back and started living in a rented house in Nadiad.

The family members of the accused allegedly physically abused the victim in absence of him. They allegedly made her wear a Burqa and recite the Quran. Meanwhile, the accused Yasarkhan Pathan escaped somewhere. Then, the female went to her family members but they were not willing to accept her. The victim told her parents about the physical and mental exploitation. The parents then filed a complaint at Nadiad town police station. The complaint was filed against 10 accused including Yasarkhan Pathan, Jabirkhan Pathan (accused’s father), Faizalkhan Pathan (accused’s brother), Shehnaz Khan Pathan (accused’s mother), Suraiyakhan Pathan, Fardinkhan Saiyad, Faridabanu Malek, Nadim Malek, Jay Kadam and one more person.

The parents of the victim were told a lie that the female was in Poland. One of the accused in the case, Jay Kadam, a Hindu man, had produced a bogus ticket to Poland in the name of victim. He had shown the ticket in mobile to the victim’s father. Then, the accused Muslim man had eloped with the female. The father and brother of the accused Yasarkhan Pathan run a non-veg hotel named Mother India near Kabristan Chokdi. The accused Yasarkhan Pathan and her mother had taken her to a gynecologist in Desai Vaga after she told him about a physical problem, where the accused mother had allegedly forced her to wear a burqa. They had allegedly filed her case in the register there as Ayatbanu Yasarkhan Pathan.

The 8 accused nabbed by the police are in judicial custody whereas the key accused and another accused have absconded. The police informed that they have started the investigation by forming various teams. The section of forceful religious conversion is added in the case. The parents of the female had made arrangements of Rs 5 lakh by mortgaging the ornaments, when the female told them about going to Poland. The female had also sold her gold chain. DeshGujarat
