Gujarat Congress suspends two party leaders over sensational audio clip

Ahmedabad: Gujarat Congress has suspended two party leaders – Vandana Patel and Atul Patel – after an unverified audio clip went viral on social media.

Vandana Patel who is Congress cadre from Mahesana district can be heard saying in an audio clip released by a Gujarati news channel that:

‘I went to debate and heard people saying that party leader —– —— has two vices, —– has two wives, ——— has two wives.’

‘—-‘s character is so lose, limitless lose it is. —– is kalank in the name of our Patidars. She pushed —– to CDs.’

‘When I will speak, —–, —– all will go silent. In the name of agitation, money making went on.’

‘Cases against Patidar quota agitators can’t be withdrawn by government. It can be withdrawn through court. People making such demands do drama for media.’

‘Congress is not going to win even 20 seats.’

Party leader Atul Patel can be heard allegedly saying that Congress can win seats only if it has proper organization.

Vandana Patel meanwhile reacting to this audio clip row told a TV channel that Bharatsinh Solanki is doing conspiracy to defame good people of party. She claimed that Bharatsinh is after her. ‘I have demanded to suspend him for his sexual mental vikruti. This audio clip has been wrongly managed to defame me. I have conveyed Bharatsinh Solanki’s karnama to Rahul Gandhi.’

Vandana Patel also said that she can’t be suspended from Congress by State unit and she would approach Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi in Delhi.

State party spokesperson Hemang Rawal said, Vandanaben Patel was speaking without evidence. She has been suspended for defaming Congress party’s image in social media. Party’s discipline committee led by Balubhai Patel had sent her a letter. The decision was taken by party’s discipline committee to suspend her. Rawal also warned to proceed with defamation case against Vandana Patel if she continues to make remarks without evidence.

Atul Patel also said he was unaware about such audio clip. He said he was served notice by party and he had sent reply too. He said he has never said anything against party or its leaders in social media. He said he will continue to work for party. DeshGujarat
