Bill passed in Gujarat Assembly for adding 11 more private universities

Gandhinagar: Gujarat Private Universities Amendment Bill 2022, passed unanimously in the state assembly today, will enable adding of 11 new private universities in the state.

The 11 private universities to be added in the state are: Gandhinagar University- Gandhinagar, SKIPS University- Gandhinagar, Swaminarayan University- Gandhinagar, Dr Subhash University- Junagadh, Nobel University- Junagadh, Trans Stadia University- Ahmedabad, Adani University- Ahmedabad, MK University- Patan, Vidhyadeep University- Surat, Maganbhai Adenwala Mahagujarat University- Kheda, and Lok Bharati University for rural innovation- Bhavnagar.

State Education Minister Jitu Vaghani informed that there were 11 universities in the state in 2002, which has reached to 91 universities at present including 52 private universities. Now there will be an increase of 11 new universities to it, he added. He stated that the youth of the state will be able to get advanced higher education in the vicinity due to the increasing reach of the government and private universities in the state. DeshGujarat
