Rickshaw drivers to go on strike on April 18 over CNG price hike
April 09, 2022
Sabarmati: The rickshaw drivers in Ahmedabad will observe a one-day strike on 18th April in protest of the price-hike in CNG.
The leaders of the rickshaw association claimed that the rickshaw drivers will be on a 1-day strike on 18th April with demand of withdrawing the price-hike of CNG. They alleged that Adani gas repeatedly implements price-hikes in CNG. The price of CNG is raised more than Rs 81 per kg. The state-wide protest will be started if the price-hike is not withdrawn, they claimed.
Amid Russia-Ukraine war, gas prices have increased internationally. India is an importer of gas and prices keep going up as per the global sourcing rate. Rickshaw drivers have already started collecting higher minimum fare recently due to gas price hike. DeshGujarat
