54 metre high statue of Hanuman to be installed at Salangpur Hanuman Mandir

Salangpur: Under the King of Salangpur project, a giant statue of Hanuman will be installed at Shri Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Mandir in Salangpur. The statue has been designed under the guidance of Gyanjeevandas Swami. After the project is over, the statue will be installed under the guidance of Acharya Shri Rakesh Prasadji and the saints of the Vadtal Gadi. The statue will be installed tentatively on 14th October. The statue is currently under construction at Manesar in Haryana by Naresh Kumawat.

Shastri Hariprakashdas Swami has named the project ‘King of Salangpur’. The entire project is planned in the backyard of the temple in an area of 1, 35,000 square foot. The project will include an 11,900 square foot step well, amphitheater with capacity to accommodate 1500 people; light, sound and fountain show and two gardens spread in an area of 62,000 square foot. The entire project is designed in such a way that the unique blend of art and architecture will make the devotees visiting the temple realise the glory of the Hindu civilization.

The giant statue of Lord Hanuman will be fifty four metre high. The thirty thousand kilogram heavy statue will be made of five different metals. The total diameter of the statue will be 754 foot long. The internal structure of the statue will be made of steel. The thickness of all the five metals will be 7.0 mm. The statue will be installed on a strong base which will have a depth of 17 foot. The base will have a Sri Yantra installed at the centre, along with the depiction of the legend of Lord Hanuman on the walls of the base.

The length and breadth of the different components of the statue will measure as follows:

· 6.5 foot long and 7.5 foot broad face

· 7 foot high and 7.5 foot broad crown

· 27 feet long and 8.5 foot broad Gada (mace) of Lord Hanuman

· 6.5 foot long and 4 foot broad hands

· 8.5 foot long and 4 foot broad legs

· 1.5 foot high and 3.5 foot broad leg bracelet

· 1.5 foot high and 2.5 foot broad hand bracelet

· 24 foot long and 10 foot broad ornaments.

3D printers, 3D router and CNC machines are being used in the construction work. The statue will be unaffected from earthquake shocks and will stand protected without any harm for the next five thousand years. The statue will be visible from a distance of seven kilometers.

Located at Salangpur in Botad district, Shri Kashtabhanjan Dev Hanumanji Mandir is one of the major temples of Gujarat dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The temple comes under the jurisdiction of the Vadtal Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The temple is spread in an area of 9, 17,700 square feet and is visited by approximately 15,000 devotees every month. The temple serves food to about 9,000 people per day.
