Felt like Sachin and Amitabh: UK PM Boris Johnson on “absolutely amazing” reception in Gujarat

New Delhi: In a joint address with Indian counterpart Narendra Modi, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson today spoke briefly about his one-day Gujarat visit a day ago. Boris said he felt to be like Sachin Tendulkar and his face was seen everywhere as Amitabh Bachchan.
Boris in his remark said: ‘My friend Prime Minister Modi, Narendra my khaas dost, I think is the phrase I want in Hindi. We had fantastic two days in India. I guess I became first conservative Prime Minister to visit Gujarat, which is your birth place of course .. ancestral home of about half of all the British Indians. And I had an amazing reception, absolutely amazing. I felt to be like Sachin Tendulkar. And my face was ubiquitous everywhere as Amitabh Bachchan. I was everywhere to be seen and it was fantastic….’

Boris had yesterday started his India visit from Gujarat. He arrived at SVPI airport in Ahmedabad and drove to Hyatt hotel on Ashram road. He then visited Sabarmati Gandhi Ashram and later the headquarters of Adani group where he had meeting with Gautam, Priti, Rajesh, Pranav and Karan Adani. Boris then flew in Chinook helicopter to British company JCB’s campus in Halol near Vadodara for its inauguration. Boris visited Gujarat Biotechnology University in Gandhinagar and also paid visit to BAPS Akshardham. He also held a meeting with industrialists and later flew back to national capital New Delhi.
