Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit-2022 concludes in Gandhinagar

Gandhinagar: Governor Shri Acharya Devvart said that at a time when traditional medical practices like Ayurveda, Unani, Homoeopathic are proving to be very important to make the entire human race more secure, there is an urgent need to expand the scope of Ayush treatment.

At the closing ceremony of the three-day Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit-2022 held at Mahatma Mandir Gandhinagar, the Governor said that Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi has known the spiritualism of the country and has adopted it in his life. That is why a separate Ministry of AYUSH has been formed to make mankind more secure through traditional methods of medicine.
He added that the views of the Prime Minister were not limited but broad. The field of AYUSH has been given priority for the treatment given by sages through herbs to be useful in the present age. Despite the limited medical practices and infrastructure in India during the Corona Crisis, not only have we protected citizens across the country, we have been able to provide materials, including medicines, to countries around the world, thanks to the foresight of Prime Minister Shri Modi.

The Governor added that by expanding the scope of AYUSH medical system, the Prime Minister has made this system of India a global name, as a result of which WHO has decided to set up the world’s first Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Gujarat, India which will benefit all mankind.

He added that the herbs that our sages used to treat are the same as the properties of the herbs even today and cannot be increased or decreased. It is a kind of research. The research that will be done in this center established at Jamnagar will be fruitful for the whole world. The Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit organized by the Prime Minister is the first of its kind in the world. At the summit, delegates, experts and physicians from more than 100 countries discussed traditional healthcare practices and discussed new research methods in the field that will be a blessing to the world in the near future, he said.

The Governor said that allopathic medicines that are used to diagnose human diseases prevent the disease but the treatment given by Ayurveda eradicates the disease. The treatment given by Ayurveda Panchkarma is the best example. In the closing ceremony of the summit, certificates were awarded to 6 winners of AYUSH Chef Competition by the Governor.

Expressing gratitude to all for the success of the summit, Union AYUSH Minister Shri Sarbananda Sonowal said that the efforts being made by Governor Acharya Devvartaji to move towards natural agriculture are of great importance for human life as well as nature. The Minister thanked the Prime Minister for setting up the world’s first Global Center for Traditional Medicine in Jamnagar and for inaugurating the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit-2022 at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

Today AYUSH is emerging as a famous milestone. We can feel the demand for AYUSH in today’s times with the success of this program. In the near future, with e-market, we will gain a place in the world market. The Minister further said that Prime Minister Shri Modi’s announcement to launch AYUSH visa category will make the mantra “Come Heal in India” come true in the field of health tourism. The success of this program is the success not only of Gujarat but of the whole of India.

The Minister thanked all the investors, researchers and all those interested in the field of AYUSH for the wonderful response it has received for the first time in the history of the Ministry of AYUSH. The summit has created millions of jobs. The Government of India is able to expand its committed investment, he added.

Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur said that the three-day AYUSH Summit has proved to be an energy hub. As a result of the special priority given to the AYUSH sector by the Prime Minister Shri Modi, the AYUSH market has today increased to 18 billion i.e., Rs 1.35 lakh crore from year 2014’s 3 billion dollar which shows a growth of 75%. As a result of the AYUSH Summit, an estimated 5.5 lakh people are expected to be employed in this field in the near future.

The Minister proudly said that the Indian economy has achieved unprecedented growth even in the face of dire circumstances like Covid-19. In the last two years when the world was fighting Covid, 47 startups from India have got a place in the Unicorn Club. While at the beginning of the year 2022, 14 more startups have joined the Unicorn Club which is a matter of pride for us, added the Minister.
The Minister said that the AYUSH Park, AYUSH Mark as well as the e-Marketplace AYUSH Products to be launched by the Ministry of AYUSH announced by Prime Minister Modi at the AYUSH Summit will give a new direction to the global identity. The first-only Global Center for Traditional Medicine to be launched in Jamnagar, Gujarat in collaboration with the Ministry of AYUSH and WHO will give India a global recognition in the field of traditional medicine research. India is to work on “One Earth, One Health” under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi. Which will be realized through GCTM launched in India. We want to spread the message of “Heal in India” around the world through AYUSH.

The Minister appealed to the youth that the role of AYUSH will prove to be very important in making India a world leader in the next 25 years. “We have to make a concerted effort to celebrate World AYUSH Day in the near future, just like the celebration of World Yoga Day,” he added.

Expressing pride of the success of this three-day program, Union Minister of State for AYUSH Shri Mahendra Munjpara said that in the history of AYUSH, a total investment of over Rs 9000 crore is received and all investors have been actively involved. The AYUSH Summit is expected to create approximately 5.50 lakh employment opportunities. The summit also saw the participation of different countries which is commendable, he added.

Union Minister of State for Tourism Shri Shripad Naik said that Ayurveda is the green gold of the country. India is moving towards becoming a world leader under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi, in which he also expressed confidence that the development of AYUSH sectors will play a very important role and provide strength.

Shri Vaidh Rajesh Kotecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH said that for the first time in the country, AYUSH Summit has been organized for the development of AYUSH. This summit will give a new direction to the field of AYUSH. Due to the success of this summit, such a summit will be organized by the Ministry of AYUSH every two years from now on.

He further said that it is a matter of great pleasure that a large number of youth have participated in this summit. With AYUSH startups, young people have shown great interest in food innovation and IT sector. MoUs have been signed with five countries at the summit. In the near future, Rs 9,000 crore will be invested in this sector. MoUs have also been signed with farmers’ organizations to increase the amount of medicinal cultivation. Through the summit, innovative things have also come up with the AYUSH diet. At this summit, experts have presented their views on various aspects of life development.

Welcoming the closing ceremony of the Global AYUSH Investment and Innovation Summit, Shri Pramod Pathak, Special Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, Central Government, said that the Summit will prove to be important for helping mankind through new innovations in the field of AYUSH under the visionary planning of Prime Minister Shri Narendrabhai Modi. He expressed confidence that the discussions held for the development of the AYUSH sector through the exchange of researches would give India a global identity in the near future.

ITRA Jamnagar Director Dr. Anup Thackeray, while summarizing the three-day AYUSH Summit, said that in this Summit, 9 round tables, 5 plenary sessions, 2 symposiums, 6 workshops, more than 100 exhibitors and more than 90 eminent speakers have given new impetus to the development of AYUSH by presenting their ideas.

He said about 5.50 lakh jobs would be created. It has had a positive impact on the lives of an estimated 76 lakh people. More than 70 MoUs have been signed in this three-day summit. As a result of the success of this summit, a total investment of over Rs. 9,000 crore has been made in the field of AYUSH.

On this occasion, Shri Kavita Garg, Joint Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH gave a vote of thanks.

The summit was attended by more than 25,000 AYUSH lovers, investors, researchers, students and experts from various states and countries including Gujarat.
