Gandhinagar: After former party spokesperson Kailash Gadhavi joined Congress and former Vadgam MLA Manibhai Vaghela who had been with Congress party for 35 years joined BJP yesterday, today further speculations are rife that party MLA from Khedbrahma Mr. Ashwin Kotwal may join ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) as early as in next one week. Reacting to this, leader of opposition in State assembly and senior Congress MLA Sukhram Rathwa said, Congress will not have any impact if Kotwal leaves the party. He said, Congress doesn’t feel any void. If Ashwin Kotwal leaves, the other youths are ready to take over his position.

Meanwhile Hardik Patel, the Working President of Congress party today was in discussion in vernacular TV media for changing his DP (Display Picture) in WhatsApp. In his new DP, Hardik is wearing a saffron scarf. Hardik is sulking for last some time. He is believed to be in direction to join BJP. Hardik today participated in the Congress party’s Yuva Swabhiman function in Tapi district but without wearing the party’s scarf. The function was in the news for the collapse of part of the tent. None was injured in this incident. Some fifty cadres of Youth Congress walked away after their displeasure over the alleged “insult” of their leader Saddam Khatik on the stage. The upset workers were soon placated by party men.

Meanwhile Hardik told media persons – “People will talk. I praised Joe Biden when he won US polls as he chose a Vice-President of Indian origin. Does that mean I’m joining his party? If rival does something praiseworthy, we need to see that too,”

In another development, it is learnt that the survey conducted by Khodaldham Trust chairman Naresh Patel has concluded that he should not join politics and continue to do social work only. Yesterday Patel was visited by State Congress spokesperson Manhar Patel with an appeal to join the Congress party. The meeting of Khodaldham Trust was declared postponed to April 27 today. DeshGujarat
