ABVP apologises over misbehave with Principal; says cadre responsible dismissed

Gandhinagar: “The agitation in the SAL college campus is a mistake of the karyakartas,” stated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), Karnavati city unit secretary Prarthanaben Amin in a press note today.

A video of a lady principal touching the feet of a female student during agitation at SAL college had gone viral on social media. Another lady teacher and gents teacher were also seen folding hands before a girl student in the viral video.

ABVP stated in a press note that the agitation was done by several ABVP karyakarta by mistake. A delegation led by ABVP Karnavati city secretary Prarthanaben Amin met the principal and confessed the mistake. The principal was seen crying when ABVP cadres visited her to tender apology.

A note released by ABVP further stated that the organization has dismissed the responsible karyakarta (cadre) Akshat Jayswal from all the responsibilities of ABVP.

ABVP’s technical student arm TSVP leader Akshat Jayswal and some other ABVP karyakarta had agitated in the office of a lady principal at SAL college over the attendance issue of a female student of the college. The ABVP agitators compelled the female principal Radhika Goswami to touch the feet of the female student.

The principal Monika Goswami had informed the parents of a female studying in second year about her low attendance and called them to meet at the college. The female student informed ABVP about the same after which ABVP student leader Akshat Jayswal and others reached her office. The video of the female principal touching the feet of the student had gone viral on social media. The female principal said that over 150 people had gathered in her cabin. She said that they review the attendance of the students every month and call parents of the students whose attendance is low to meet at the college and counsel them. DeshGujarat
