Gandhinagar: In order to impart necessary skills required to find employment in local industries in the state, the Gujarat government will begin offering 2-3 certificate, post diploma and diploma at 5 ITIs of the state beginning August 2022.

The 5 ITIs to benefit from this decision are Jamnagar, Palanpur, Billimora, Ankleshwar and Maliya Miyana. The state government will release Rs 5 crore in phases to start and run these academic courses related to local industries at the 5 ITIs.

The ITI in Jamnagar will offer courses in manufacturing/brass parts, Morbi ITI will offer courses in ceramic, Billimora will offer textile courses and Ankleshwar ITI will offer courses useful for chemical industries.

Each of these above mentioned ITIs will admit 20-25 students in these courses.

Jamnagar ITI Principal MM Bochiya informed that the course for manufacturing has been designed by representatives of the brass parts industries and the courses will be offered beginning October after acquiring the necessary equipment and machines.

Which cities will have which course?

Jamnagar will train for brass parts

· Post Diploma in Quality Insurance & Inspection: 1 yr: diploma or degree in any engineering stream

· Diploma welding: 2 yrs: Diploma in Mechanical, or in any engineering stream

· Certi course in CNC Brass Part machine: 6 months: 10 pass/ITI

Textile courses in Billimora

· Diploma Industrial Utility and Automation: 1 yr: 12 pass, ITI, 12 pass equivalent

· Diploma in Process Plant Technical: 1 yr: 12th pass, ITI, 12th equivalent

Ceramics in Maliya Miyana

· Diploma in Exim Supervisor: 1 yr: NSQF level 4 certificate course, or 1 yr of academic studies

· Diploma in Ceramic Production Management: 2 yr: NSQF level 5, 10+2 or ITI in any trade

Green Energy Courses in Palanpur

· Certificate course in solar power, installation, operation and maintenance: 6 months: 10+2 ITI (ET, ETN, Wireman, IM)

· Post Graduation Solar Energy and Management: 1 yr: BE/ BBA/B.Com/BSc

Chemical course in Ankleshwar

· BSc General Chemical Technology: 3 yr: 10+2/ITI pass
